Noticing Newbies

Hello, my name is Lynn and I joined a few days ago. I've been trying to find my way around the site and it looks really good.
I am a newish writer but I've wanted to write for as long as I can remember. I have written a few bits, never been published but did send a short story to a competition, I didn't win but I found it scary but exciting at the same time.

I'm looking forward to learning more about the do's and don'ts of writing, and hopefully get rid of the self-doubt I have because I think it's stopping me from taking this as seriously as I want to (if that makes sense?)
