Yes, it belongs in Tech Support -- how to use the site questions go there.

That said --

It's in My Account/Account Settings, near the bottom: Manage Signature(s).

You can't exactly turn it off.

You need to create an empty signature for that particular Book item, by leaving the textbox empty - 0 characters used. You'll need the item number of the Book.
