Yes, I agree this place is a bit confusing for a newbie *Rolling* -- that's because it's so big and it offers so many choices and has so many nooks and corners to explore! All of which is very, very exciting once you're used to it and can call it 'home' the way most of us here do.
The first thing is -- don't hesitate to ask, if you have a question about anything to do with the site. Post your questions on this forum or email me or anyone else you happen to find.
If you'd like to do a bit of reading up yourself, Writing.Com 101 (linked from the top right of your screen) helps with various aspects of the site. Search for answers by topic, there.

The most important thing is -- have fun around here! This is a great place to be and I'm so glad you found us.
