You can check the word count through your word processor, like MS Word, or you can check it here at WdC. Go the item and click on the at the top right. (Above where you see the star rating). A dropdown menu will show. Scroll down to 'Word Count' and click on it. Another box will appear and show you all sorts of info including the word count.
