Zen - thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly! I am very appreciative! What you said makes sense. I will take it all to heart and apply it to my future writing endeavors.

When it comes to the “confetti”, do you think there should be a limit to how much fluff an author might add into his novel? I am the kind of writer that, when creating everything as small as a character all the way to something as large as the encompassing world in which my characters live, lots of detail is essential. That’s just the kind of writer I am. After I am done with the creation, I pick and choose what details to use and which not to. A very good friend of mine said that there is an actual phenomenon where a writer might add TOO much detail. I don’t agree with that and feel that it’s a decision/technique that each author has to make.
