Re: Hello Group
In general, write what you know is stellar advice. I would always hope an author that wants diversity in characters and surroundings will do plenty of research. From that perspective, the author maintains a type of creative control; yet, there may be free form or stream of consciousness prose that one wants to share that should always be allowed. Some of James Joyce's work, or Anais Nin faced questions, yet I am glad their views were in the world.

I admire the Nineteenth and Twentieth century gatherings of creative types in salons and its rural cousin, the chautauqua. And I believe as long as people are free to gather, in small groups, large, or virtually... the freedom to express shall not be curtailed fully by any government. There may always be community standards one is asked to abide by, and those can vary as the pendulum swings. On my own, I will always support an individual's right to speak, act or move as that one sees; just give me the same respect to not have to agree, see, or move away from anything I do not wish to take part in.
