It all started with a broken guitar string.
There I was Country singing on stage
Dressed in my best cowboy getup
Yodeling high notes that never strayed.

In spite of my perfect performance
Not one eye or ear turned my way
Until that G string twanged off-key
And I knew my future was made.

It stopped all conversation
All drinking paused as if stunned
And voices started humming
To that strange sound they did lunge.

The crowd grew closer to listen
As my fingers strummed my song
Every note filled with emotion
Every heart playing along.

Now there is no instrument like it
I am famed wherever I go.
My trail of admirers tears up
When I string them along in my show.
