Since almost all activities and contests on the site are run by members, the member hosting the activity is responsible for advertising their activity or contest. The Contest Central Station is also a member-run page. Keeping it current is the responsibility of the member who hosts it.

Activities and contests that are not updated should be assumed to be inactive.
Activities and contests hosted by a member who hasn't logged in within the last month should be assumed to be inactive.

The Activities page and the Contests page are site pages, but they aren't populated automatically. The member who hosts the activity or contest must go to the page and post their item there. When their activity or contest is over, almost no one goes back and deletes their plug.

I have gone through the Activities page and the Contests page and removed anything that looked closed, but anything that wasn't posted recently should probably be assumed to be inactive.
