Week of 6/5/23: No writing. Cleaning house in prep for a visit from our son and his wife, and celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary. Week of 6/12/23: Company arrives. My refrigerator is stocked with food; with assistance of our neighbor who owns a boat, he took all of us out to sea for a final goodbye to the ashes of my husband's parents. They passed away a few years ago, we've held their ashes until date, weather, and travel plans could be organized. It was a beautiful day in south Florida, clear sky, calm sea. Once in place about 3 miles east, we gently poured ashes into the blue water and the ashes made a mirror-image of the clouds above, only with a bright glow of white within the center of the ash cloud stayed visible for 10 minutes. Robert & Annie spent another day at the beach and came home lobster red. Luckily, I had some spray aloe in the cabinet. On Monday (6/19/23), they left to drive back to Texas. I'm still sad, I miss my in laws and my son, Robert, and his wife, Anne. GaelicQueen |
