As for a change for next year, I think it'd be wonderful to have a merit badge for everyone who stays in until the end, whether you want to make it only if they also hit 50K words or just that they do enough sprints to not drop out, or both. I think maybe we'd have more people stick to it with that incentive and it'd be more motivating for the majority of participants.
