I popped up the users online to see if a friend was on and spotted this forum. Wow! I am glad to see a forum of this type here.
I went through surgical menopause at the age of 33. It was a crash of hormones that exceeded post partum depression tenfold. I now wear a patch and do fairly well with it.
What puzzles me though, is that it seems the older I get, the less tolerance I have for the still present mood swings at times. I get weepy and I hate it!!!!
I am not a woman that cries easily as it makes me feel helpless.
I don't regret my surgery as my mother died of ovarian cancer at the age of 41 and recurrent cysts that wouldn't dissolve precipitated the surgery. I only wish that it was easier for me to live with menopause. It's funny. It really is the "change of life."
Then again, I do have a good excuse when I am being a witch!
