I realize I'm a couple hours late,but better late than never.Anyway,I've been wondering something.What do you think are characteristics of a good lyricist,and who do you think exhibits these characteristics? I am a fan of early years/middle years of Genesis(Peter Gabriel in particular),as I admire diversity in forms of lyrics(being symbolistic and abstract in "Firth of Fifth",then shifting gears to concrete narration in "I Know What I Like").What's your take?
