The Romulans have a huge potential for a very interesting story arch. They have appeared in Enterprise for one episode called 'Minefield' from season 2 and if Enterprise survives the hatred it's getting from the die hard 'Live for Trek 24/7 all year round' fans because they think Enterprise is terrible for not following the history and time line from the books, then I'm hoping that the Romulans return and the Earth-Romulan war happens, which in turn causes the founding of the Federation. Honestly, I think Enterprise is a very good series with a very interesting story line going on in it about how time is being messed around with by the future. It's as good as DS9 was.
