Ch 4 and 5 of my first book
Chapter 4
they grew nearer and nearer, until they were nearly within reach. they stopped and surveyed him. there were only four of them, so tornado was confident that he would have no problem.
"mih llik stel." one grunted.
"on." another growled.
"gnorts skool eh." a different one grunted.
"these things are out of their minds if they think that they can handle me." tornado whispered to himself.
suddenly, two of the raiders charged at him. tornado jumped to the side, easily dodging them. the other two ran off into the forest, for unknown reasons. then, the two that decided to fight tried to surround him, as best as the two could. he jumped to his left and slid his sword through the orc raider. this left just one, standing in front of him now, wondering what to do.
"ho hu."
"come on, want some of my sword, plenty left." tornado roared at the raider.
"on."
with that, the orc turned and ran, like a puppy with its tail between its legs. tornado bent down by the dead orc, and decided that he wasnt just going to let the pocessions sit with him. he rummaged through the bags and pockets of the orc, only to find ten gold coins and a scroll. he opened it, but was disheartened to see that he could not read anything written upon it. it was not a sentinal scroll.
".grt .enim era sedih ruoy ro ,em ot kcab lla ti gnirb .sah eh gnihtyreve ekat dna ,odanrot deman eno eht dnif" he read outloud.
he stared at the wording in disbelief.
"man. well, i should still keep it, someone should be able to decode it." he mumbled. "nothin else, i'll take it back to koth. he can decode it, for sure."
then, he heard something behind him. he spun around, and from behind a bush, waddled little tina.
"tina!" he shouted while bending down to take her into his arms.
"tornado!" she yelled, running toward him. she leaped into his arms, and he picked her up.
"wheres daddy?" tornado asked the girl.
"i dont know, the only thing i saw was the raiders." she peeped.
"we'll find him, hes somewhere."
then, a small bird landed on tornado's shoulder out of nowhere. he was not startled, for he knew what it was. he plucked the note from the tiny bird's beak, and began to read aloud.
"tornado, i must say that my adventure is not at its peak of positivity. i can safely say that i am not dead, or hurt, but my search is not going well, and well, im in jail. i dont want to bother you to come pay for release, but in case you want to, i am in jyrgon, which is west of the paladin federation's main facility. i am not allowed to include my jail-time reasons in this letter, but i am allowed to say that i dont know why i am in here, because i am innocent. if you wish to pay release, it is 48 gold. im sorry, i guess i have caused trouble amongst the group. your friend, troy." he read, nearly angered. "troy! you idiot. well tina, looks like we have to go pay to get troy out of jail."
"who is troy?"
"oh, troy is a friend of mine and your daddy's." tornado stated.
"ok. and what is jail?" tina asked.
"oh, jail is where you go if you do something bad, or if they think you did something bad." tornado explained.
"ok."
so the two set off for jyrgon, and would luckily be passing through the paladin federation, which was where juli was. after a day of walking, the two decided to cut short and rest until morning. tornado put the mats on the ground, one for him, one for tina. they were both asleep quickly, tina within six inches of tornado. during the night, she was startled, and snuggled up to tornado. in the morning, they woke, and were on their way again. they walked for a few hours, and finally came to the paladin federation. tornado and tina entered the facility, both anxious to see what was within it, but anxious to see completely different things. tornado wanted to see juli, love of his life, while tina wanted to see just what a knight really was. tornado lead tina to juli's hut, and knocked on the door. juli answered the door, and nearly had a heart attack at what she saw.
"tornado? is that you?" juli questioned.
"yep, its me alright."
"and who is the girl with you?"
"oh, tina, she is my friend's daughter."
"hi tina, im juli."
"hi." tina said, bashfully.
"what am i doing, i almost forgot." she said while leaning forward and kissing tornado.
tina turned away from the sight, finding it to be gross.
"im sorry i cant stay juli, but one of my friends is in jail, he says he didn't do anything, i dont know. i have to go pay for his release." tornado explained.
"no problem. oh, and i thought you might wanna know, my training here is finished in two weeks." she said happily.
"great! we can, well, be together." he said nervously.
"yep, what i have always wanted."
"me too." tornado said while turning to leave for jyrgon.
"i'll be seeing ya in two weeks tor." juli said to him, blowing him a kiss.
"i shall wait." he replied.
so tornado and tina left the pf, and continued west to jyrgon. they reached the city within twenty minutes. tornado and tina marched to the jail, anxious to see and hear just what it is troy did. they arrived at the jail, and saw troy in a cell. he was staring at the ground, so he didn't notice. tornado walked over to the guard to find out how troy had managed to get locked up.
"excuse me, guard. could i maybe find out why a troy is within the confines of this jail?" tornado questioned him patiently.
"oh, the new guy. a local declared to have seen mister troy stealing from a market stall. i, under orders, had to arrest him, innocent or guilty." the guard told.
"how much is the release cost?" tornado asked, looking over at troy, who had finally noticed him, and was standing at the bars of the jail.
"release for him is 45 gold." he said.
"45, eh." tornado said, giving troy an angry look.
"i thought it was 48, guard?" troy shouted over to him.
"it was, but you only have to serve fourteen days, so each day, release goes down in cost." the guard explained.
"he only has to stay here for two weeks?!" tornado hollered.
"yes, did he not inform you in the note we let him write?" the guard questioned.
"no, he did not." tornado said, frowning over at troy.
"well, you can either pay the release, stare at him, or leave."
"hmm, and what is the release cost, lets say, in six days?"
"it goes down three gold every day." he explained to him. "so it would cost 27 gold."
"if i paid you, lets say, 30 gold right now, could you possibly let him go in five days time?" tornado said.
"yes, that is how it works, if you give me fifteen gold, he will be released in eleven days."
"ok, im going to give you 30 gold, and in five days, i can count on him being released?" tornado asked.
"yes, he will be out of there, in five days." the guard growled.
"ok." tornado said, tossing him a sack of 30 gold.
"thank you, sir. may your day be well."
"yours too." tornado answered.
so tina and tornado left the jail, tornado rather angry at troy. the two headed back to the forest of mesmerization, hopefully to find jayrem. this time, however, tornado did not want to take a long time traveling. so he put tina on his shoulders, and he ran, instead of walking the whole way. this time, they were back in the forest within a few hours. tornado knew they had to find jayrem, before the forest made him do something that was beyond insane. so the two began searching for jayrem in the vast, enchanting forest. they wandered around, seeking him, shouting his name here and there. they were befuddled, no clue what had happened to him, where he had wandered.
"tina, your daddy is just fine, trust me." he blurted.
"ok, he is strong."
"yes, strong indeed." tornado replied.
so they continued their search, but after several hours, decided to rest for the night. tornado tossed the mats on the ground, and the two slept yet another night without jayrem. while tornado slept, the forest controlled his dream, again.
*tornado had the fire sentinal scroll in his hand. he handed it to ike. ike kept it. he wasn't sure what was going on, and why such things were even taking place. suddenly, he was hit in the back of the head with something. he began falling, closer to the ground. when he smacked into the ground, he awoke.*
he looked over at tina, still sleeping on, and under, her mat. he slowly drifted back into sleep. in the morning, the two rose and began yet another search for the lost jayrem. tornado packed up the mats and they were on their way. then, after walking for a few moments, they saw it. a human shape was appearing in the distance, but was it jayrem, or someone else? it was heading in their direction, so they would meet in the middle. then, as the figure got closer, they noticed it was jayrem. he walked up to them, looking at the ground. then, he punched tornado square in the jaw, knocking him on his back. tina, being so young, backed off, scared out of her life. she backed up to where tornado was regaining his stance.
"what was that, jayrem?" tornado stated with extra volume.
"he he he he he. if only you knew what was about to happen, imbosile." he chuckled.
"jayrem, have you been at a pub lately, drunkard?"
"tornado, whats happening?" tina cried.
"nothing, tina. your daddy can't kill us, im far too strong. he must be possessed." he explained.
he was on his feet again, sword in hand. jayrem drew his sword, as well. jayrem ran toward tornado, ready to fight. tornado prepared for the charging sword. jayrem lunged at tornado, stabbing at him. tornado, trained well, dodged it by jumping to his left. jayrem slashed at him, but tornado blocked it with his sword, otherwise called a parry. jayrem jumped in the air and tried to stab down into tornado's skull, but tornado stepped aside with incredible speed, causing jayrem to stab into the unforgiving earth. jayrem's sword was stuck now, a great disadvantage. tornado sheathed his sword and tackled jayrem to the ground. the two wrestled around, but eventually, tornado had jayrem pinned. tornado wasn't sure what to do, so he kept jayrem pinned until he came up with an idea. then, jayrem blinked, and it was as if the blink canceled the spell, because jayrem was calm, no longer fighting the pin.
"tornado, what are you doing?" jayrem asked.
"jayrem, are you yourself again?" tornado asked the seemingly changed jayrem.
"quite so, who else could i be?" jayrem said.
"oh, nobody, i was just kidding." tornado said, letting jayrem up.
"anyways, how have you and tina been?" jayrem questioned.
"we have been fine, luckily we found you." tornado said, turning to look where tina had once stood. "where did tina go?" tornado hollered.
"oh no. you find me, and now tina is gone. are we three going to be together again on this adventure, or are we doomed to seperation." jayrem questioned, disheartedly.
"we'll find her, she may have just hidden, since you were possessed and all." tornado blurted.
"i was possessed?" jayrem asked, surprisingly.
"yeah, do you think i would just wrestle you for fun?" tornado said sarcastically.
"we should not bicker. lets try to find tina, she has to be scared."
so the two began wandering around, shouting tina's name continuiosly.
"this forest has been quite a visit, hasn't it?" tornado directed to jayrem.
"yes, not the funnest visit, but indeed challenging." he replied.
soon, they found tina behind a bush about 300 feet away from where the two men had been wrestling.
"daddy!" tina cried, hugging jayrem.
"your safe now, tina." jayrem reassured her.
so the three continued the journey through the forest, finally together again. theywalked for quite some time, and soon came to a large tree.
"hey jay. maybe thats the tree with the network. you know, where you can drop an object at the top, and it will follow a path to the bottom."
"i believe it is. one problem, i left out a detail. certain objects that progress all the way through the pathways can become cursed, so i say lets stick to acorns or something simple." jayrem explained.
"or maybe even pinecones." tornado added, picking a pinecone up.
tornado jumped up to the top of the tree, where he placed the pinecone. it began to fall, following the path that jayrem said it would. tornado jumped back down, waiting for it to slide out of a hole. if it succeeded, out the hole it would come. if it failed, it would fall out of another hole, high above, and would hit them in the head.
"i hope its still capable." jayrem said, crossing his fingers, waiting anxiously.
"yeah." tornado said, just as anxious.
then, they heard a sound, and out of the hole popped the pinecone, into jayrem's hand.
"it worked!" jayrem shouted.
the three were impressed, and decided to mess around with the tree for a while, and maybe gain a peek at how it did this inside the tree.

Chapter 5
"sir, tornado defeated the raiders we sent after him." a man grunted.
"i figured he would." another man groaned.
"what are your next orders, master trigend?"
"well, since the forest of mesmerization has had quite an effect on their dreams, i want you to patrol the forest, and when they sleep, i want you to force this down their throats." he growled, handing the man a vial.
"what is this?" the man asked.
"its a little remedy, causes the bad to come out in the drinker." trigend said with a grin upon his face.
"i shall complete the task at hand, master." the man said.
"good. while you do that, gordon and i shall think of a plan to convince tornado that there is a scroll somewhere dangerous."
so the man exited the meeting room, heading for the forest of mesmerization, to deliver a remedy to their enemy.
"well, brother. what do you think we should do at this point, besides wait for the remedy?" trigend snarled.
"hmm. if i am not mistaken, tornado has a friend by the name of bishdu in star valley, does he not. well, since we all know that there is a scroll in star valley, perhaps, we could use the forge as a lure. he may think the scroll is within it, and search endlessly through it. the problem with this, the forge is hidden by a ghost gem, so only a superb trained eye could even scope it out. well, i say we release the ghost gem, and bring out the visibility in the forge." gordon explained.
"well, before any of that can occur, we must relocate our secret dwarf commission. we could sneak them out through the northern exit, and hide them somewhere near the paladin federation. then, and only then, can the forge become a trap for mister bishdu." trigend announced.
"but sir, we have 250 dwarves in the forge. are you asking us to sneak an army out of the northern exit without being heard or seen?" another man stated.
"well, the northern exit is about a mile away from the pf, so they couldnt hear them. then, the sight may be an issue, yes. so we simply chain them together, and give the leader the ghost gem, simple as that. the ghost gem will work forever as long as it is sealed to a non-living object, but when a living thing uses it, it may only last about an hour, maximum. an hour should give us a lead out of the pf's sight. thank you for pointing that out, gilderoy."
"also, we could use the dwarves differently. instead of hiding them, we could possibly attack mister tornado and that girl he was with. tornado may be quite a fighter, but against 250 dwarves, he wouldn't stand a chance. although, recent reports have shown that tornado has a friend with him, the girl's father. no name has been matched with him yet, but it is probably one of tornado's good friends, like bishdu. i think i remember all six of them. lets see, theres tornado, troy, bishdu, ike, kent, and uh, jayrem, those are the six. by the reports, troy is in jail, ike is in ozrin, bishdu is in star valley, kent is in caprice, so the man with tornado must be jayrem. another report also informed us that jayrem, or the man with tornado, was possessed. we had nothing to do with that, did we?" gilderoy asked.
"no, we have not possessed a soul." trigend answered.
"well, then there is someone else plotting against them, or maybe even us." gordon replied.
"the only possible person, or group plotting against us, is the htr recon. i believe the htr stands for hunters of the righteous. they hunt down anyone who supports the church or the army. the question, why would they plot against us? aren't we against the army, at least?" gilderoy stated.
"yes, but we aren't against or for the church. the church is neutral to us, as we are to the church. the htr recon is indeed against us, but maybe we could join forces to take out tornado and his friends." gordon said.
"well, i can fight tornado by myself, but since he has friends, we can't just go fight them all, they are too powerful for me alone. not to mention, they have the church and army on their side, so it would be crazy for us to stand solo against them." trigend explained.
"thats why we take them out one by one, since they are all scattered, alone." gordon answered.
"yes. we can use the dwarves to attack tornado, and when the church sends out a missionary to find his murderer, we can sneak the dwarves back through the forge, kill bishdu on the way through, and take them to jyrgon, and eliminate troy, who is in jail. ike is too far off to worry about, and kent is in caprice, which is underground." gilderoy proclaimed.
suddenly, a man entered the meeting room with a troubled expression upon his face.
"sir, the dwarves in the forge have been wiped out, only four survivors. what are your orders?" the man groaned.
"what! the dwarves were killed. who is responsible? before i give any orders, i must have a report, immediately." trigend shouted.
"i have a report. the man was called, by his girlfriend, bishdu sir." the man explained.
"bishdu killed the dwarves, eh." trigend growled.
"how did he enter the forge? it had a ghost gem sealed within it. is he like a hawk, how did he see it?" gordon asked with a shout.
"we aren't sure sir. all we know is that all but four were killed, the ghost gem was stolen, and the forge was trashed. by the way, why is it called the forge? isn't a forge a blacksmith's workshop?" the man asked.
"thank you for the report. we called it the forge because if we called it the secret base, it wouldn't be very secret, now would it." trigend stated, very angrily.
"i understand, sir. i will take my leave." the man said, exiting the room.
"now we have a situation to give a feather about." gilderoy said.
"now we are alone." trigend stated.
"so there are only five of us remaining?" gordon asked.
"yes. you, gilderoy, i, hector, who i sent to give tornado a remedy, and yhord, who just gave us a report on the forge." trigend answered.
"so it is us five against the six or seven of them, if you include the girlfriend and the small girl with tornado." gordon stated.
"they dont count. its us five against six. we are outnumbered. lucky for us, gilderoy is nearly a genius." trigend explained.
"are you forgetting someone. he may not be searching for a scroll, but bishdu has a brother named koth. he is a scholar, with a file memory. he is smarter than i shall ever be." gilderoy informed the two.
"bishdu has a sholarly brother, eh. that isn't to our advantage." trigend stated.
"ok, we need a plan against these savages. first off, hector is going to give mr. tornado the remedy. when we receive word that he has accomplished that, we will order yhord to negotiate with the htr recon. meanwhile, we will lure the six together, so the army doesn't grow suspicious, and try to kill them." gilderoy stated.
"how do we lure the six together? i think i have an idea. find one of the sentinal scrolls, simple as that." gordon said.
"ok, so we have a plan. now, to execute that plan, and lure the six together." trigend shouted.
bishdu and nikita were in the forge. they were in a large room with many tables, probably for meals. it was dimly lit, and the walls, ceiling and floor were all rock and dirt. it was welcoming, but not the most welcoming. there were also stalagmites and stalagtites scattered about. hung upon them were weapons, ranging from swords and daggers, to axes and halberds.
"this place seems, uh, peaceful. well, now that it is emptied of the drunk dwarves." bishdu blurted.
"smells terrible, though." nikita added.
"i wonder if we should, take cover in hiding. you dont just kill 246 dwarves and someone not want you dead or something along those lines." bishdu explained.
"well, i saw a door a ways back, shall we see just what is behind it?" nikita suggested.
"the only idea is the idea we go with, so lets go check out that door." bishdu said, nodding.
so the two retraced their steps and found the door nikita spoke of. bishdu turned the knob and tossed the door open.
"coast is clear." bishdu said.
so they entered and to their surprise, found a lit lantern. in the corner to their right was a small bed. to the left, against the wall was a table, accompanied by a single chair. it looked like the rest of the forge.
"well, we can hide here for a while." bishdu said, closing the door behind him.
"how long must we hide?" asked nikita.
"i would say, eh, two, no, three days." bishdu yawned.
"well, we can fit in that bed, can't we?" bishdu asked.
"yes."
so the two climbed into the dusty bed and fell right asleep. miles away, tornado, jayrem and tina were all sleeping as well. trigend, gordon and gilderoy, however, were wide awake, wondering what their next move would be.
"i suggest that i go find a sentinal scroll. trigend, you shouldn't because you are the leader, and if you die, no plans. gilderoy, you are too smart to risk it." gordon said.
"gilderoy, i think that you had better find some information on those scrolls." trigend roared.
"i know alot about the scrolls. the only one i know nothing about is the heaven scroll; only one with four powers." he explained.
"i shall return. i will fetch yhord." gordon stated.
gordon left the meeting room to fetch yhord.
"so gilderoy, have you ever heard of a man named zet?" trigend asked.
"no, who is he?" gilderoy replied.
"he just graduated from the wua. he was friends with tornado while he was there, but i saw him in himtet."
"why should i know about him?"
"he is the one that gave me this." trigend said, pulling the blizzard scroll out of his cloak.
"why would a friend of tornado give you that scroll?"
"i threatened him, and you know how it is to be threatened by me. for god's sake i'm 6'2"."
"hmm, so gordon doesn't have to obtain a scroll at all, does he? gilderoy said.
"keep quiet, gilderoy. gordon can still fetch a scroll, it will just add onto our power." trigend whispered across the table.
gordon entered the room.
"well guys, i suppose i should head out to search for a sentinal scroll. return, i may." gordon said, exiting the meeting room.
"so now we have hector giving tornado a remedy, yhord is negotiating with the htr recon, and now gordon is searching for a scroll. what shall we do?" gilderoy said.
"nothing. all we do is stay alert. eventually, you and i are going to himtet, to stay in a secret underground hall that i had built a few years ago."
"ok, so our part is simple, or at least simpler."
bishdu and nikita had finally woken after several hours of sleep. for a minute, they had forgotten where they were, but soon realized that they were in hiding.
"well, since we can't really do anything, are we at least allowed to see if there is any food out in that large room?" nikita questioned.
"sure, lets go." bishdu said, opening the door to the hall.
the two walked down the hall, and into the large meal room. bishdu walked over to the corner and busted open a crate. peanuts poured onto the floor.
"well, we have peanuts and wine. thats better than nothing." bishdu hollered across the large room .
so the two ate their dinner of peanuts and wine, and returned to the bedroom. they hadn't been in the room for two minutes when they heard a rumbling noise from above them. they figured it was a train of carts or something.
"those are probably just trading wagons." nikita stated.
"maybe. or maybe the army that is coming to kill us for murdering the dwarves." bishdu said with a laugh.
"hmm, i still do not know how exactly you found the entrance to this place." nikita said, expecting an answer.
"do you realize we were in star valley? well, a valley is surrounded by raised terrain. the entrance was on the side of one of those higher terrains, at the side of the valley. when we were walking down into the valley, i thought i heard a growl, underground. i ignored it, until we were against another side of the valley, where i heard another growl, or maybe it was a burp, im not sure. anyway, i saw a glimpse of light, and figured that there was something hidden. i walked over to the hill, and noticed that something had to be where there appeared to be nothing. most of the reason i found this place was luck." bishdu explained.
"well, we have a while before we can just show ourselves anywhere." nikita stated.
gordon was already in star valley. he knew exactly where the scroll was, and how to get it from its secret hiding. he walked to the north end of the valley, and found a large rock, bigger than he. he tipped it over, and it seemed to sink, but not into the dirt, into itself. it was as if the top layers were being eaten by the lower layers. he tipped the rock back over, and saw that the rock was somewhat hollow. he reached down into the rock, and grabbed a smaller rock, that seemed to fit perfectly in his hand. he pulled it out.
"man. what do i do now? think, think, think."
he tipped the rock back over, so the bottom was now on top again. he began to hammer at the center of the bottom with the rock he had. soon, he had broken away a thin sheet of rock, so that now where there was rock, was a mold, that the rock he held fit in like a puzzle piece. he placed it in the hole. the rock began to glow, and the top four inches of the rock seemed to spin. then, it lifted up off of the rock, and there, nestled in its own mold of a bed, was a sentinal scroll.
"got it." gordon roared.
he snatched up the scroll. he took the smaller rock out of its mold and tipped the larger rock back to its former position, as to not give off too much evidence. he headed back to headquarters, where he knew trigend and gilderoy awaited his return.
meanwhile, yhord had arrived at the main base of the htr recon. he was in the conference room of the base, and was rather nervous, being surrounded by possible enemies.
"may we please stick to the subject at hand. you people commited a possession upon a man named jayrem. we aren't going to get mad, we hate jayrem, but now we are possible suspects for such an action. i have simply come here to negotiate with you, to persuade you to join forces with the council of doom. we wish to stop tornado and his friends from retrieving the nine sentinal scrolls, but if we are to accomplish such things, we must have you on our side. so, what to you think? wish to join us?" yhord explained.
"first of all, we will see to it that you will not be blamed for our actions. we accept full responsibility for the possession. second, why should we join you if may possibly keep the scrolls for yourselves?" a man at the head of the table said.
" i assure you that we shant keep all the scrolls for ourselves. how does this sound, we keep the fire, blizzard, shock and shadow scrolls, and you keep the heaven, tornado, earth, aqua and time scrolls?" yhord stated.
"hmm, it sounds reasonable. you may have yourself a deal with the scroll matter. now, when you say you wish to join us, do you mean merge together to become one establishment, or work together? do we have to supply any men?"
"we simply wish to work with you, no merge. we were hoping that while we lured the six together, you could possibly use your men to distract the church's missionaries by simply commiting a simple crime. one that would gain each man a night or two in jail. then, when we kill the six, with the help of some of your men, a few, we escort the dead bodies to sorkev, the capital, and admit to the king that we have murdered them. when we are thrown in jail, you use the five sentinal scrolls, along with the four we shall give you secretly while in jail, and you shall use them to overthrow the king. we can kill seven birds with six stones."
"this sounds like a full proof plan. we shall send a report when we have made a decision. goodbye, mr. yhord."
"good day to you."
yhord exited the room, proud of a job well done. an arguement well convinced.
"gilderoy, what is your clevecteron score, or do you know?" trigend asked.
"that intelligence test that scores one to one-hundred. my cs is about a 65, maybe 70. i took the test twice. first time, i got a 66. then, i went back a year later and it was 68." he stated, proudly.
"hmm, not bad. mine was only 47 last time i checked. do you know what koth's is?" trigend asked across the table.
"koth had a 96 or 97. that was years ago. it may be maxed out at 100, which would be insane. if his is 100, he can visit us in spirit while he sleeps." gilderoy said with a shiver.
"what is the memory scale for the cs score?" trigend asked.
"scores of 1-18, you have short-length memory. your memory lasts about 25 seconds, or less. then, 19-25, you can remember anything within a twenty-four hour period. at 26-36, you have a bad memory, which means you can remember certain things, here and there, but usually not long term, such as fifteen years. then, from 37-50, you have an average memory. at 51-60, you have a superior memory, and can recall most things you have heard, ever. from 61-75, you have a photographic memory, and can remember any image, any wording. at 76-88, you have an imprint memory, which means you cannot forget anything, even if you try. if it is over 89, you have whats called a file memory. a file memory means you cannot forget anything, you can remember physical and mental. for example, if koth got punched, he could feel that same exact pain ten years later, without ever getting punched. if you have a 100, you not only remember everything, you know a bit of the future. it may only be fifteen seconds into the future, but its the future. so far, i have heard of one man with a 100, and he has been gone for years."
"so i have an average memory, eh. yours is photographic. impressive."
"do you know what your brother's cs is?"
"oh, gordon's is 60, so he is just under having a photographic memory."
"he may have somewhat of a photographic memory, being so close to the minimum."
"do we know any of the enemies' cs scores, besides koth's?" trigend asked with a smile.
"reports have said that kent's is 50, jayrem's is 43, and ike's is 41. as for tornado, bishdu and troy, we aren't quite sure. we estimate that tornado's is 45-50, bishdu's is 52-55, and troy's is 40-50. jayrem did have a trainee named marth. cute kid, had a cs of 69 or so. nikita, bishdu's girlfriend, has between a 46 and 48. tina, jayrem's daughter, surprisingly has a 50-60."
"zet, the guy that gave me the sentinal scroll, said he had a 33, which would mean his memory was terrible." trigend said.
"hmm, dont know how true that is. sir baldrick over at the wua has a 38. hector has a 56. yhord has a 53. we have some superior memories here at the cod; or council of doom."
"how do you know all these people's cs's?"
"with a photographic memory, no problem to me."
"right, right. anyway, lets try to keep koth out of this, since we are unsure whether his cs is 100 or not." trigend groaned.
"whether it is 100 or not, he really shouldn't be in this mess. he would be able to plot against us, easily." gilderoy replied.
"he could truly interfere with any plans we establish. the less he knows, the better. on another matter, we did plant a bleak gem within the home town of koth. that will keep him somewhat occupied, hopefully. the only downside to that plan, it didn't really take affect on him, but maybe to zombies around him will drive him to the deep end." trigend explained.
"so when we join the htr recon, hopefully, we are going to kill all six of them, and use the nine scrolls to take over the kingdom?" gilderoy questioned.
"that was the original plan, but we are thinking about letting them live, and then exporting them to fin de' trech. who would honestly want to live there. the king is an incompatent fool who taxes his citizens to death. in fact, i think most citizens starve throughout a week. it may be because he lives under a kingson rule. see, here in vartik, we live under a personton rule, which means that the people have the right to run a store or commity or anything, like our council of doom. if we lived in fin de' trech, we could not do such things, we would have to join a group ran by the king or one of his minions. it isn't very sophisticated." trigend explained.
"i am well aware of all that. after all, i am the genius of the group. your cs has to be 70 to be a genius, which i may have."
"yeah yeah, whatever. anyway, i hope that the htr recon will join us. that would truly help us out, speaking our army is gone because of some roughneck bastard. i mean, i did give the dwarves strict orders not to harm anyone, so it was bishdu's fault, correct?" trigend roared.
"no. actually, how i see it, the dwarves probably rushed him, which made him panic. he probably attacked one, causing them to swarm over him, which resulted in their demise. i do believe that the dwarves are to blame, but bishdu, like you said, is still a roughneck." gilderoy hypothesised.
"do we have any knowledge of the four dwarves that remain?" trigend requested.
"i believe they are headed here, sir. we may be able to multiply them, since female dwarves give birth to 3-5 children."
"how long do they carry the kids?"
"oh, about seven months."
"so almost two births a year." trigend stated.
then, yhord busted through the doors, as if he were angry for some incoherent reason.
"what is it yhord?" trigend asked.
"we have ourselves a compact, an alliance you might call it." yhord said.
"great! now we can get down to business. by the way yhord, how did you do it?" gilderoy asked.
tornado, jayrem and tina had left the tree with a network of paths. they had come to an opening in the forest, which they found quite odd.
"hmm. why would there be an opening here, and only here?" jayrem rhetorically asked.
"im not so sure." tornado responded.
then, tina took off into the opening. she hadn't made it a fourth of the way across when she seemed to smack into something and fall to the ground.
"tina!" jayrem shouted.
tornado and jayrem rushed over to tina.
"oww." tina said, crying.
"its quite alright tina." jayrem said, lifting the girl up.
"what happened?" tornado asked.
"im not sure. she ran into something, but theres nothing here."
bishdu reached out where tina had fallen and felt something. it felt cylindrical and particularly rough.
"hmm. it feels like a....umm.....i dont know."
tornado reached out and felt it.
"it feels like a rock, or maybe even a tree." he uttered.
"i wonder if there isn't some species of invisible trees?" bishdu murmered.
"maybe they only live here, in this opening." tornado declared.
"if there are, oh well. we must press on, carefully of course."
"yeah, its like being blind."
so the three edged forward, ever so slowly. they kept their hands out in front of them, to feel for trees in their route. soon, after a few bumps and possible bruises, they made it through the opening.
"why didn't we just go around it?" tornado questioned.
"eh, more of an adventure if you take the hard way." bishdu said.
so the three continued, but realized that night was approaching, and they would have to stop and rest. they ventured on for ten minutes, and finally stopped for the night. tornado threw down the mats and the three went to sleep, hoping for a peaceful, dreamless night.
