My breath is short, I know I am dying
I keep reaching for your hand
Hoping you will stop all of the lying

I don’t think I will ever get out
I keep thinking you will change
If I could just pull away to a different route
Then you would be far enough from heart range

I will keep denying the things that I know
Because its love I want and someone to hold
I keep telling myself I am the one you need to help you grow
But after all this time it has began to unfold

How could you become so selfish
When I am giving you everything
You told me you would give me every wish
I thought you could really be my king

I am locked in side a cage
And I am not even trying to get out
I’m not blinded from the full page
But just afraid of what I am living without
