A group to move Farhana's upgrade group to 6 mos membership
Help Them Help Themselves!!


Farhana has a fantastic idea for a group: active writers working together to upgrade themselves. Her standards are tough, but they ensure that each person upgraded is fully deserving. Every month, she and the three other members strive to fundraise 240,000 gps (see "Invalid Item"  . That's a lot of gift points.

Being a mathmatically-minded person, I realized that the most effective way to put Farhana 's group to work is to purchase a larger upgrade. In an ideal world, we would shoot for a full year; bound by realism, I think a 6 mos upgraded membership would work out fine. Once everyone is there, the group would only have to raise 2,000,000 gps a year, rather than 2,800,000 - a difference of 800,000 gps or $80. Instead of raising 240,000 each month, the group would only need to raise 167,000. That's still a lot, but it's more obtainable.

My plan is to put together the 1,000,000 gps to upgrade these four for six months. Actually, I wouldn't need a full 1,000K; I'm sure the group can pick up the 60,000 each for the month, or 240,000. That makes my total 760,000 gift points.

Let me first say that Farhana and her group have not asked me to do this. They are fully intent on "Helping Themselves". On the other hand, I feel like they could better help themselves with a little *kick*.

Second, let me remind you that, although I'm working on long-term goals, "Invalid Item"  is still struggling to raise 240,000 gps each month. So I won't be insulted if you choose to help them out immediately instead of taking the "long term" view. Also, if one of them is unable to get an upgrade, we lose a very valuable Writing.com community member.
