Acting like they own the place
In January 2006, I took a day trip to John Pennekamp Park in Key Largo. During this trip, I became reacquainted with the lush mangrove ecology which flourishes on the land part of the park. This picture was taken while I ate some ice cream in the park's concession area. There were about a dozen ibis in the area, but these two were the closest to me, and like a surprising amount of the wildlife there, they weren't all that afraid of people (although they seemed a bit scared of the camera). I suspect they were waiting for handouts in that tiny picnic area, as it was the only place I saw them.
