Madison's parents just kissed her goodbye and drove back to the airport to leave her alone in her dorm room. She was a little sad and was going to miss them, but she was really excited for college. Madison had been successful and well liked in high school at Coral Gables and looking forward to new experiences in college.
After around an hour of setting up her room around her roommate's stuff, which had already been moved in, someone walked through the door.
''Hi, I'm Cassi'' said the girl in a friendly voice. ''I'm Madison, we must be roommates.'' It was obviously awkward at first, but after awhile of talking they realized that they really liked each other. Cassi was from a small town in Kansas where her family were wheat farmers, far different from her upbringing where her Dad was a successful businessman in the Miami area.
As dinner time approached, they found some other girls from their floor went to the dinning hall on campus, which had just been recently redone. They were shocked at how good the food was, and how much of it there was, seeing as it was buffet style.
Madison usually ate pretty healthy when she was at home, but she decided that she should go for something tasty since it was the first night. She had a slice of pizza and huge burrito.
While her and Cassi were eating they go to know some other girls on the floor, there was Kelly, a lanky blonde who used to play basketball in high school, a short skinny girl with brown hair named Ginger, and Megan, a medium hieght girl of african descent who looked to be in pretty good shape. They all got along great, mainly because everyone was trying to fit in during the first week of college. Madison also noticed that she ended up in a pack of pretty attractive looking friends. She was a really nice and outgoing person, but her one flaw was that she had an overdeveloped sense of vanity, and deeply cared about her appereance.
