Tristan Taylor was walking down the street, to meet up with his friend Joey. As he walked, lost in his own thoughts, he heard a "crunch" under his boot. Glancing down, he noticed a Duel Monster's card on the ground.

"Hm?" he muttered as he picked it up. He didn't know much about the game, but he could recognise this as a Spell Card. Although... wasn't there supposed to be a picture on it? And some writing?

He didn't have time to ponder this, as the card suddenly let out a bright flash.
