Dear Salem O'Rourke :

What a fascinating story!

I didn't think much of the beginning, but I couldn't stop reading as the jealous and tired dog sought to throw a coup against Eagle and tried to use Man to make the coup work. With Man's knowledge of making fire, the Dog thought that he had won in his manipulations, but poor Man was unhappy at not gaining the secret of Eagle's flight ability, and since he had won the all important contest, made himself ruler of all animals.

This is brilliant and original, but sort of skirts the Biblical account of how Man became Lord over all animal life on Earth. Still, I can imagine that this might be publishable as is for children's stories.

I thought this to be very cleverly written. The structure and dialog were superb. I did, however, see a couple of places that I thought warranted a suggestion:

*Vine1* "His conceitedness will get in the way, than you seize his crown for yourself.” - -- looks like "than" should be 'then'.

*Vine1*" After searching for a many days,..." - - - I don't think that you need "a" in there.

I agree that, in a way, to this day, "Dog is Man's servant". Yet, from my own experiences with my many canine companions, we have a mutual relationship of love and respect. Most Canine companions will tell you the same. *Wink*

Thank you for sharing this inventive, imaginative and original story with everyone! Nice work! *Smile*
