November Rain [13+] Music and emotion, expressed using the Naga Uta form. |
This is your local Simply Positive Reviewer, here! Your writing has been selected for review, as part of Simply Positive's mission to bring more light on Authors here at WDC! First Impressions: "November Rain" is a surefire glance at what it is like to be utterly devoid, completely within the abyss, totally into the darkest of days... I loved this poem automatically, for it is true that the author chose for the title of this work the same title that graces Guns 'N Roses song. November Rain. I thought of the form in which it was written, the style of the poem itself, and came away thoroughly impressed. The emphasis on rain within this poem is something that is always galvanizing to me; weather and poetry undergo powerful mood - and it is through this tool that poetry like this can enhance my muse, hypnotise it almost... I was thrilled by this, partially because it mirrored back the mood of a favorite band playing a favourite song...and partly because of the great skill of this writer! Overall Impact: I must say with eyes half-lidded that to know this poem is to know what it is like to enter the Game of Thrones contest, WDC-style!! Imagine that. I completely know that there is a world that we can enable/disable ourselves with; this poem speaks of that world, only sometimes...where we end up may not have been on itenerary we planned on to begin with. Errors: No mistakes in this well-written, superbly-expressive poem. Summation: Favourite lines: " naught but fragile notes, shattered, crushed by twilight’s game," I am becoming a huge fan of this poet to date! Her work becomes more sage, more deep, more reaching with every writing I read. KEEP WRITING!!!!!!!!!
