First Impressions: "Winter Fun"  is a fun, outing-type story that combines the fun of being part of a vibrant family and the semi-kamikaze fun of sledding downhill amongst others who can bail on you in the middle of a intrepid race down a school hill.

I know plenty of such things.

In my day, as was my style, if I was not sledding, I was snurfing, and if not snurfing, I was downhill skiing. Typically speaking, my craziness was at such a demonic level that I crossed over the front of peoples' skis... *Rolling*

This was truly a heartwarming story of a family gathering in the depths of winter no less....!!



Overall Impact: Anytime folks pile into a 4WD vehicle and take a spin out onto snow-filled streets, I'm game. Naturally, not everybody is kooky for it, but there is a certain amount of fun from years experience when we learn to steer INTO a skid when ice and snow is concerned.

Goodness gracious yes!

Naturally, I loved the story with the two kids, ever-understanding of both parents in dire need to prove somehow which one of them is Top Gun of the snow slopes, and yet with all kinds of other folks out and about doing exactly the same thing, the results of the race can be....what is the word? SKEWED?

Or was it like the movie we see each winter....Scrooge-d?! *Rolling*

I hate losing races, especially of this kind. Believe me, I'd be like Scrooge when/if this kind of thing catches up with me. WINNING is the only thing!!

I think we get the general idea here. No one enjoys losing a sledding race, that is for sure. But I DO have a secret to share with the author of this story, if ever in case she gets the opportunity to entre sled races in the future: there are commercial ski waxes available for certain types of snow that can literally subtract hours from slope distance times in races!

GO GET 'EM, QP!!!

Summation: A fun romp with family in the depths of snowfall, doing what families do best - stay together and enjoy all the fun, no matter the time of day nor the year nor the generation....

KEEP ON WRITING! SNOW IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!
