This is a good poem about a rose complaining about its thorns. It has a comparison to life and how we feel our troubles should end. The wish granted to the rose makes life difficult for it. Evil men and children pick at its petals. The poem implies without our troubles our life would be open to danger. A rose is no rose without its thorns. The poetry is nice to read as it is written in abcb 7-6 7-6 format. In the end, the rose pleads to have its thorns back. This is very heart warming as it implies we learn from our mistakes.
