Hi there, Ghostgirl.
This is a sad, albeit real piece, and I can tell you wrote it from the heart. I don't know all the details, but I can pretty much figure it out.
Somebody to love is something we all strive for during our lives, but unfortunately those relationships don't always last forever. If somebody is asking to you choose between a friend and them, that's not right. At least in my opinion. You have to remember most good friends will be there forever, whereas this one you 'want' might not be.
And to make another point, you shouldn't have to change for anybody! That's not right either. If somebody truly loves you, then they should love you for you are, not for who they want you to be!
That's my take on this, anyway.
I hope everything works out for you and hopefully you can have both your best friend AND your new romance.
Kee ponw ritin gon, Ghostgirl, and welcome to WdC! If you like to write, then you're going to love it here!
PS-You might want to get your biography set up so we can know a little something more about you (hobbies, favorite authors/books, location, etc.), but that's up to you, of course.
