I'm no expert on poetry, but after reading this I can tell that you ARE!
I thought this was really, really good! I love the analogies you used for the piracy theme, not too mention the professionalism you have. I'm not too sure about that 2nd to last line where you seemed to have a mental hiccup and had to use the word 'puke', but the rest of it was great for a free verse poem!
I peeked in your portfolio and saw that this isn't your only poem, so you've obviously got some past experience!
