Greetings, MK Wolfe!
For your 1st piece on here, this isn't bad. I'm a lover/reader/writer, and judge of horror, dark pieces, and the supernatural, and the idea of having an out of body experience (especially one like this!) might not be entirely original, but I enjoy the way you put your own spin on it. I won't say the ending was a surprise because I did see it coming, but your prose was excellent, as was your spelling and grammar.
Can the dead go into shock? That's a good question. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. *Smirk2*
I'm not sure who the Madman is, but I'm guessing he's a character (or your Muse) that you're using for this creative writing class? If so, you/he are doing a pretty good job. Flash fiction isn't easy, but you don't seem to be having much trouble.

PS-You might want to get your bioblock (biography) set up so we can know a little something about you (hobbies, favorite books/authors, location, etc.), but that's up to you, of course.
