Greetings, Morgenstern!

Welcome to our international writing community. The following observations are offered in the spirit of friendly hospitality and constructive support, but they are nothing more than on person's opinions, so take them or leave them for whatever you think they may be worth.

TITLE:

The title applied to this poem invites the prospective reader to share an experience of confrontation that all writers live for.

FORM & STRUCTURE:

Poetry weaves an intricate web of aesthetic effects with threads of lyrical language, vibrant imagery and organizational form. As poets, we design or select an established pattern for any particular composition based on the contributions the specific characteristics of that arrangement will make toward enhancing the shades and nuances of meaning.

Your selection of the Villanelle form ( http://www.shadowpoetry.com/resources/wip/villanelle.html ) provides a solid framework upon which to drape the word pictures you are painting. The tight patterns of rhyme and repetition tie the composition securely into a cohesive unit.

PICKY COPY EDIT ITEM:

In the first line of the third stanza, the comma should be place after "soar" instead of "but."

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

The optimistic tone of that one phrase "Absence...Possibility" had me from the get go. Well done!
