Trivia of the Week: According to research conducted by RescueTime, people spend approximately 3.25 hours per day on their phones. The average American also watches more than 3.5 hours of television per day. Even assuming that the hours of recreational phone use and television viewing overlap and that some phone usage is likely related to business or other productivity, that's more than three hours a day that people are spending with their screens. Even cutting that by one-third would give you an extra hour in the day to write.

REAL LIFE DRAMA
There are times when the drama of real life can encroach on your creative efforts. Whether it's something personally taxing (an illness, family drama, etc.) or just a general sense of exhaustion with the world around you (the news, being stuck in quarantine and feeling like you're starring in a non-comedic remake of Groundhog Day, etc.), it can be a struggle to get words on the page and keep up your productivity when there's so much pressure all around you. Particularly if the weight on your shoulders is immediate and/or acute.
I'd like to make the case that such situations are actually the perfect time to double down and keep writing. It may be hard, even downright impossible-seeming, but those of us for whom writing is an escape, a pressure valve, or a coping mechanism often need that therapeutic effect of writing even more when we're experiencing drama of a different kind in our real lives.
Obviously there will be times when real life needs trump writing needs. If you're sick, sometimes you just have to focus on getting better. If you're financially struggling, you might have to focus on working more hours to make ends meet. But as someone who has gone significant lengths of time without actually doing any writing, at least for me, those times have tended to feel more stressful and more anxiety-inducing because I didn't have the escape of writing to help me re-center my mind.
If you're in a season of your life where the pressures of the real world are pushing down, I'd encourage you to find the time to write, if you can. Finding the time to write and work on something creative is often just the thing you need to help put the rest of life's drama into perspective. Or at least get a break from it for a little while as you disappear into the world of a story.

EXCERPT: "Lets make love together and go beyond"- he says to me almost everytime we have any conversation. I have been rejecting his proposal for a really long time now, though I find him my perfect match, but the kind of match not supposed to stay lifelong.
