Welcome to this issue of the Noticing Newbies newsletter. Join me as I take you into some nooks and crannies of Writing.Com that you may not have found time to check out yet. This newsletter is about and for you. And for you seasoned members, I hope you'll find something you can take from my ramblings.

I've been a member of Writing.Com since May 2008. I've said goodbye to some members in that time, and I've welcomed many more. Writing.Com is managed (owned and operated, if you will) by a very dynamic husband and wife team, who call themselves The StoryMaster  and The StoryMistress  .
I used the word "dynamic" on purpose. Our hosts are very active on site, and are always looking for new features to add, thereby making both our writing life and our navigating efforts on site easier. This means at some point you'll need help or at least have a question about some facet of WDC. Where do you go for answers?
Even new members are quick to find the basic help forums. Let's look at some of these--first a couple Book items:
"Writing.Com 101" : The quintessential Reference Guide of all things that are Writing.Com. As a Book item, Writing.Com 101 is organized into clickable entries. That is, find the informational item you desire in the table of contents and click on that item opening it for review. Writing.Com 101 should be your first stop for help. Here are a couple special sections you might wish to check:
 "Get Started With Your Account"
"Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)"
"Site News & Announcements" : Like the name says--these are announcements that pertain to Writing.Com. These announcements date back to 2001 when Writing.Com was known as Stories.Com. For example, you can find the entry announcing that Stories.Com is changing to Writing.Com. In fact, the first person who emails me with that particular entry will receive a merit badge.
But some people find it easier to ask for help rather than to search for and read an answer. If that's you, check out one of a number of Message Forums from which help may be found.
"Writing.Com General Discussion" This is Writing.Com's public forum for the community. Members, new and seasoned, come here to share, compare and communicate! The header says it all--take a moment and check it out.
"Noticing Newbies" New members come here to introduce themselves, and perhaps their writing styles, as well as to meet and greet other new members to Writing.Com
"Technical Support Forum" This is a support forum for members to help other members by answering questions regarding anything that is Writing.Com or computer related. Key things to remember when using this forum are listed in the important guidelines at the top of the forum. For non-technical or writing-related support issues, please visit the next Message Forum.
"Non-Technical Support Forum" This is a support forum for members to help other members by answering questions regarding anything that is non-technical and writing related. Again, check out the guidelines for information about using the forum.
The thing to remember with these message forums is that while they are hosted by WDC Staff help is often provided by members. The old adage "two heads are better than one" really applies here. If you want an answer to a problem you're having, please provide as much information (and links, if appropriate) about the problem as possible. It will help narrow down an answer.
Finally, you can always ask another member directly for help or assistance. Most seasoned members can either answer a question or know someone who can.
Whenever you need it, you should have no shortage of options for help.
