Letter from the editor

Although its been almost two years since I've been a newbie, I will never forget the excitement of logging onto WDC my first few days here. The feeling I received with my first review was exhilarating. I began to think that maybe I wasn’t so bad at writing after all. Not long after that, I gathered up enough courage to enter my first contest. Imagine my surprise when I actually won! After that, I was hooked. Most of the members here are encouraging and extremely helpful, not to mention that there are forums for you to post questions, if you have any. And on a site this big, I'm guessing you'll have plenty. I’m going to list just a few of the many forums newbies might find helpful in getting started.

One of the first places you might want to stop in and say 'hello' is the "Noticing Newbies. There you can meet other newbies as well as others members of WDC. If you're looking for a place to request reviews you can stop over at "Please Review. Please make sure your entry is rated E through 18+. Speaking of ratings, you'll want to acquaint yourself with the rating policies on WDC: "Content Rating System (CRS) You'll also want to check the main page of "Frequently Asked Questions" http://www.writing.com/main/faq.php

If you still have questions, please don't hesitate to email me personally, or post your question in one of the approriate forums. Everyone here is great about getting back to you in a timely manner.

WDC is more than just a writing site. For many of us here, it's a second home. I have formed many friendships that I am confident will last a lifetime as I'm sure many of you will also. Have fun exploring this vast and wonderful site!
