Attracting Entrants to your Contest/Activity

You have a great contest just waiting for entrants. You have a nice banner, the rules are all clearly listed and the prizes are sizable. Why is no one entering?

It could be that the community doesn't know it's there. Now is the time to get word out and bring some traffic to your contest. Here are a few suggestions on how:

*Idea* Visit "Gaining Exposure Within Writing.Com [ASR] Lots of suggestions there!

*Idea* If you belong to groups, ask the group leader to add a link in the next group email. Or ask if you may post it on the group forum.

*Idea* Add a clickable image or link to your signature. Curious members will click and visit your contest.

*Idea* If it's a raffle or reviewing forum, offer tickets/reviews in another member's auction. You might have to donate the tickets, but the link will be in that auction and bring traffic to your item.

*Idea* Reviews of your contest/activity get a link on the review page! Ask for reviews in review forums or review group request pages.

*Idea* Sponsor your item with BidClick advertising. If you've never tried BidClick, now is the time!

The best way to bring in traffic is to have a well-planned contest/activity. Communication is the key! If you plan ahead and get the word out, members will come and enjoy your item. And if they enjoy it, they'll return again for future rounds or activities.

Comments
Dorianne : I like your recommendation to keep a list of contests that you have entered. I agree that sending a note of congratulations is so nice. I think that reading the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners can help you see the various styles and creativity that went into that piece

Happy April 2024! : I find entering a contest is a great way to get your work read and sometimes reviewed as well. I know I do that. Great newsletter.

Thanks for the feedback!
