Daily Activities and Contests

Many members are busy now, buried in NaNoWriMo, writing novels. Those of you who are looking for things to do while your friends are plotting and scribbling have come to the right place. *Smile* The place to win GPs and fill your account coffers for the upcoming holidays.

While you're at it, bookmark some of these and continue to visit them throughout the year. The best discipline for writing is good habits. If you habitually write every day, odds are that eventually something fantastic will come out on paper. These contests have prompts to inspire you all the time.

Admit it, we all are capable of frittering away time on the computer. Reading forwarded email jokes, chatting on instant messengers and surfing sports and humor sites can all use up valuable time. If you discipline yourself and commit a certain amount of time to writing and using your imaginative gray matter, some good fortune could come your way.

Along the way, you'll meet new site friends, get to review some new work, and feel like you've accomplished something. Isn't that why you joined this site?

Our community has many daily and weekly contests that few people enter. Why? Most likely, they haven't taken the time to find them. Here's how I can help! I'll be featuring some daily and weekly contests in the Editor Picks right below. All you have to do is visit them, bookmark them and then enter.

Oh, and those of you doing NaNoWriMo, do join in December 1st!

Ask & Answer

This month's question: What are some of your favorite contests? Send feedback and a plug down there! *Down*

Last month's question: What do you like to do on WDC when you're bored?

afineline: When I'm bored on WDC, I look for an interesting contest. I never chose one that gives a topic I'm used to writing about- oh, that would be far too easy. I pick something I'm not used to, as it gives an entertaining challenge. This both gives a chance at winning, and broadens one's horizons in doing so. I strongly recommend everyone try this out, as even if you don't place, it never hurts to try!

cookie_writer: When I don't know what to do with myself the things I like to do on WDC are; hit the random read button as it is like an adventure and you never know what you will find, read blogs, and try out different word searches.

fulldazegal: How can you get bored on WDC?

I agree! *Smile*
