Question: *Bullet* I hate Spam - please make it stop! Is there anything you can do to help me?

*Bullet* You are most likely getting SPAM if you opened an outside email to your w.com account somewhere along the line (like e-cards or other offsite emails). Even just one can open a barrage of SPAM.

There are ways to filter out SPAM and only get your w.com email in your inbox.

Read this for some help setting that up:

Question: *Bullet* I wrote an interactive story (or message forum) and when I search for it, it doesn't come up, but it's on my portfolio. How do I make it available for everyone?

*Bullet* In order to have your interactive appear in the public listings, it must have at least three additions. If it is rated XGC, it will only appear in listings for members who have their content rating filters set to allow XGC items to be viewed and will not be visible to non-members.

Message forums must have at least one message. Post your welcome message and you'll be set.

Question: *Bullet* How safe are the items that we post on writing.com. Will someone steal my idea?

*Bullet* My best suggestion would be to use Access Restrictions if you are worried about your work. Posting to the internet does expose work to potential loss, but I would say that it is minimal and fairly rare, at least for larger works like novels.

If you are worried about it but don't want to remove your work entirely from the internet, setting items to be visible only by members of Writing.Com might be a solution.

hope that helps!
Take care and Write on!

Jay's debut novel is out now!

Question: *Bullet* How do I remove items and Authors from my Favorite lists?

*Bullet* Click on the "My Favorites" tab near the top of the page. Next to each favorite, way over to the right, you'll see [X]. Click on that

Question: *Bullet* I want to post a book on Writing.Com for critique, but I don't want to lose my first publishing rights. What should I avoid so I don't lose these rights by posting on the internet?

*Bullet* It depends on the publisher. Writing.Com is a peer-to-peer writing community and not a publisher, therefore you haven't been published, but some publishing houses are picky. You give away no rights by posting on this site, but some publishers will require that the story not have been visible to the general public via the Internet.

To be safe, you can limited your stories to Registered Users or Registered Authors. That way your stories won't be visible to anyone who isn't a member of Writing.Com.

Thank you, Gabriella! I accept your thanks on behalf of The StoryMaster and The StoryMistress who come up with all these good ideas; and those who work hard everyday to answer your questions in forums such as I've highlighted in this issue.

It does run pretty smoothly, doesn't it?
