Poll Question:
Interested in finding out readers opinions of an 'additional book' that complements the Dumas Novel, 'The Count of Monte Cristo'.

I'm interested to find out what site members, viewers and readers think of a proposed idea for a novel that fills in the missing years of Alexander Dumas' famous Character, the Count of Monte Cristo (Edmond Dantes). In the original novel, the main character goes missing for 8 or 9 years. The story jumps forward and begins a new with a character who is very different to that of the character we met in the first chapters of the book.

My query, began when I was pondering writing a book to complete these missing years. An avid fan of the book, whilst reading I noticed that there were endless hints as to what the Count got upto during his absence. So, I was wondering what peoples thoughts are on the idea of filling in those 8 or 9 missing years and adding to an already historic peice of work?

Would you read such a novel? And what key things would you expect and hope to find out from such a book?
