| Please help solve the dilemma with a character name. In my WIP I have a character of Bulgarian nationality and in search of a suitable name I have came to the dilemma of choosing between two names. I have crafted both on information about meaning and history found on the site Behind The Name. Following will be both variants, but first, let's have a brief explanation. His occupation is electrical engineering. He is head of the energy supply department in a settlement on Mars. For the first name * Ivaylo: Perhaps derived from an old Bulgar name meaning "wolf". It was the name of a 13th-century emperor of Bulgaria. It is possible that this spelling was the result of a 15th-century misreading of his real name Vulo from historical documents.1 * Deyan - Bulgarian form of Dejan: 2 Dejan - Possibly derived from the South Slavic word dejati meaning "to act, to do". Otherwise, it may be related to Latin deus "god".3 Middle name * Goran - Means "mountain man", derived from South Slavic gora meaning "mountain". It was popularised by the Croatian poet Ivan Goran Kovačić (1913-1943), who got his middle name because of the mountain town where he was born.4 Surname * Chavdarov - Means "son of CHAVDAR".5 Chavdar - Derived from a Persian word meaning "leader, dignitary".6 Please vote variant you think is most suitable.
