The charges, trial and conviction of a young mother.
I have a friend Greg who met his wife Kim through correspondence. She was in prison at the time and Greg asked me if she could write to me. I said “of course” and so she did. The first couple letters were the basics, “hi” how are you” and so on. Then Kim sent me the letter that explained why she was incarcerated. It was a shock to me, and I couldn’t write to her for a few weeks. Greg never actually said what she was in for, I guess just through our conversations I assumed..that she was in for Killing her husband because he beat her. And of course I do not condone Killing, it seemed like self defense to me and I felt bad for Kim. But now the truth was staring at me from the pages in her letter, screaming at me..after my initial shock I did write kim back and I point blank asked her if she did it. She responded with a “NO” and then told me her story.
