Free verse poem for Spidey's weekly contest

ANOTHER MOUNTAIN

It's just another mountain
that I will have to climb,
a little steeper than I remember.

The going is rough, with each step
I feel the lessening of air.
I gasp for breath and rest.

This was not the path
I had planned to take;
I had no desire to climb...

But I have heard that
at the top of the mountain
the downhill side is easier.

It's just another mountain
and there will be others
soon this one - will be behind me.
