The past is meant to be forgiven and forgotten, no matter how much you want to hold it.
They met in front of the toilet around the street corner, the last place she would imagine to meet him. At that time, she was about to take the turn at the corner and he was obviously in an urgency to do his personal business. They bumped into each other so hard that she was nearly knocked over by his strong body. He held out his arms to save her from falling backward and she, out of instinct, grabbed him by his collar. They were close enough for her to breathe in the unforgetable scent of his body, a mixture of his hormone and the perfume he wore. That was an interesting picture: two people, four arms. They looked like they were about to kiss or to fight, which was impossible for others to tell.
Later that day, they were having coffee in a nearby cafe. The conversation was smooth and agreeable. He was such an easy-going person who was full of humor. When they had to call it a day and say 'goodbye', they left each other the phone number. That was the best day ever in her life. It seemed that a romance was about to begin, but how many relationships can end in real happiness at the end? Life is no romance but reality. Loving somebody will eventually form into a habit in life. People will say 'i've got used to having that person in my life.'or 'To me, he is family.'
She never thought that much. If she had done, she would never have had all those misery in her life.

It was the third Tuesday after the day they met. There was still no phone calls and messages. She thought he would call her at the end of that week. But she was never right about men. At first, she believed that he was a very busy person who viewed his career as the first important thing in life, but as the time flew by, she began to doubt. And all kinds of guesses flooded into her head.
Maybe he was on a business trip and had no time to call her. Maybe his mother was sick and he had to take care of her. Maybe he was not interested in her and he just tried to be a nice person in the cafe. Maybe there were other women.Yes, women, must be other women... She bit her lips out of anger.
...or... maybe he lost her phone number and was waiting for her to call... She suddenly saw hope flashing across the dark sky.

The small white paper with his numbers on it was neatly and safely stored in her purse. This paper was no longer a ordinary paper, it represented hopes dreams and happiness. And the numbers were the best combination she had ever seen. As she careful retrieved it and unfolded it, her heart began to accelerate. She could even feel the beat of her heart. In her mind, she was picturing a romantic dinner at a decent restaurant. She was even imagine the touch of his hands. No, that's too quick. She tried in vain to force the idea out of her mind. What's the matter with me? She thought. I am not that desperate. She began to detest herself.

Holding the phone and staring at the numbers, she hesitated. What could she say in such a occation? Just to say hi? No, that would be too embarrassing. To question him why he didn't call? Definitely not. He would think that she was a desperate woman and couldn't wait to get rid of her. Then what to say? She had no idea.

To call or not to call? She was tortured by all the thoughts. Maybe to call him is not a good idea. She should wait some more and give him more time. He was just busy. She told herself so. But in her heart, she didn't believe it.
