the end of a friendship
My erstwhile friend

Ah, my erstwhile friend
What a tepid end
With the tables turned
Back to where we started
On even footing

Common ground eroded
Myths of each other exploded
Losing contact
No more needing
No longer feeling

Ah, my erstwhile friend
Here we are
With phoney sincerity
What a pity…..
It was good while it lasted
