Drowned City
Levees breached
Refugees from home, at home
Dying to be reached

Desperate people looting, shooting
Chemical spills polluting
Tears for dead bodies floating
Or the horror

And what about tomorrow?
more sorrow?
Is the any hope?
to help the people cope

Clinging to what is left
Totally bereft
Forced removal
No approval

Population displaced
What is still to be faced?
New Orleans reborn
No longer forlorn

Let the jazz play on
