A poem of betrayal, of death, and of a broken love.
Stop!
Stop it!
Don't think that way!
Stop thinking about it!
It shouldn't have happened!
Stop! It didn't happen that way!
I swear it!
Just stop!
Listen to me!
I can explain!
No, don't do that!
It's not that bad!
I'll help you through it!
No, stop, please, don't do that.
Please don't do that!
There has to be another way!
I swear I didn't mean to!
Please stop!
Don't leave me here alone!
I don't think I can handle it
If you leave me that way!
Please don't…..

Sobbing I watch as you pull the trigger.
Taking your life from the world,
From me and my betrayal.
I catch your body as it falls,
Limp and lifeless.
I look into your dulling eyes
The light that once shined in them gone.
I'm so sorry! I cry out.
Sobbing over your body.
I didn't mean for it to happen.
Now you've left me forever.
I'll never see you smile at me again,
Never feel your loving arms around me,
Never hear those words from you.

I look at you through my tears,
Knowing...
I'll always have to remember
That the cause of your death…
Was me.
Me and my mistake.
My betrayal of your trust and love.
I was weak and that's no excuse.
I'm sorry.
I wish the whole affair had never happened.
I'm so sorry, but that won't bring you back.
