A sonnet, wow! This was a hard one, but I think I like the results...feedback please!
Oh! Overcome, my precious secret be,
The wild beast conquered, vanquished in its cage.
Transformed itself from equanimity
Into horrendous bouts of captive rage.

Till claw met lock and cage bars opened wide,
And eye to eye the creature drew me in,
The hungry beast gnawed at the truth inside
Devoured my flesh and spat me out again.

While lies are mutton fit to feed a beast.
The truth consists of sinew, gristle, bone.
Henceforth, I choose to be an honest feast,
Appeasing appetites for truth alone.

The beast, unfed, unshackled, hence was free,
And out my secret fled captivity.
