Nora, The Tooth Fairy, had a bad night at Little Sammy's house.
Never Distract A Fairy
by Terry Burres

The moment that Nora, The Tooth Fairy, swooped into the room she shook her tiny head. The wisps of the popcorn smell hit her square in the face like, well, a bag of popcorn with extra butter. How could little Sammy sleep with such wonderfully delightful scents filling every corner of the house?

There he was, sound asleep with his thumb in his mouth right where his first baby tooth had been just hours ago. Nora flitted to the edge of the pillow. With the skill borne from thousands of tooth recoveries, she removed the tooth . Reaching into her bag she started to pull out a trinket as a replacement when the microwave beeped. Another bag of that wonderful aroma drifted from another part of the house. Little Sammy muttered around his thumb and started to sit up even though his eyes were still shut tight.

Nora hurriedly dropped her gift under the pillow and in a blink of an eye she was outside of the house. It wasn’t until she stopped at daybreak that she discovered that she had one extra gift left in her bag.

Miles away Little Sammy reached under his pillow. Instead of money or something just as exciting, he found a small tomato and mushroom sandwich made with green moss bread. He found that he liked Nora’s fairy lunch almost as much as pizza - well almost.
