A Poetic retelling of the original bible story
Transfiguration
By Mckeithan Owens

Jesus took James, John and Peter out of the twelve and led them up upon a mountain,
to quench their thirst from the eternal water, everlasting fountain
Glory be to God! What an elevation! To be one of the few to lay eyes on the transfiguration

So exalted, High above appeared Moses and Elijah
overwhelmed and taken by a robust feeling unclear
They saw a cloud come there and a voice spoke
“this is My Son with whom I am well pleased, so adhere”

James, John and Peter fell on their faces behold our Lord and Master told them not to fear
Arise and do not be afraid he said and tell no one of the vision ‘til the son of man is risen from the dead.
