A teen named Girshand gets thrown into a world of magic. Work in progress
The sky was dark, as though someone had pulled a blanket over it. Had it been midnight, this type of sky would be completely normal, noone would have thought it to be out of the ordinary. Yet they did, because it wasn't midnight; it was three o'clock in the afternoon! The day had started out bright and fresh, the kind of day that makes birds sing. However, just over twenty minutes ago, it had gone dark, and the people of Sarmale had come out of their houses to witness the mystery. Among them was Girshand, a 15 year-old boy. He had been tending to the fields when he had heard a low rumbling. It seemed to come from within the earth, as though some creature was trapped inside, waking from a deep sleep. He thought the ground was going to split apart, thats how loud it was. Then something very peculiar happened: there was a bright blue flash that seemed to replace the sun and fill all the earth with its light. Though it only lasted about 10 seconds, afterwards, the sky was pitch-black. The people of the village had taken to lighting torches and fires to see.
