meeting someone again after a while
the re-established connection shines
like a golden thread through a spider's web
eras of ebb the silence dead it flows
i piece together your face out of phrases
your identikit smile's unearthly beauty
and a laugh like sleighbells driving through amnesia
distance was never a matter of miles
far away is a state of mind and a rut
all the length and breadth has been cut
from a world that will fit in an almanac
the Alexandrian library on a microchip
quantify and qualify to know the quality
the po-faced deny the good of frivolity
but you always appreciated a good laugh
and your smiles could always kill a draft
