The loss of a lover
Quiet Echoes of You

My life is empty, since you’ve gone.
You promised you’d never leave.
Although at first I thought you’d lied,
Now I do believe.

I feel your presence all around,
Wherever I may go.
I sense your touch upon my skin,
When I’m sad and low.

I think at times I hear you whisper
Softly in my ear.
That is when I’m reassured,
Knowing you are near.

Everyday I think of you.
My heart still skips a beat.
But you said there’d be another,
To make my life complete.

It’s not what I want right now,
But probably will be true.
Just remember I’ll never forget,
The things we use to do.

Though these echoes may fade in time.
Memories of you will stay,
Within my heart and in my soul,
Forever and a day.
