Burying the past. Letting go & letting God.
I mourn the loss of hopes and dreams,
but not of you.
Only what was and should have been,
and never will be.
I'm sick at heart
looking back on painful memories.
I wanted something I did not have
and you could not give me-
all of your heart, devotion and loyalty.
If only I'd seen and walked away....
but then she would not be-
my precious child,
the gift God gave to me.
Loving her was worth it all,
for this I claim victory
over the specter of the death of our marriage
and your broken vows.
I walked away from the ashes
shaking the dust from my feet.
I'm ready to move on
to whatever God has planned for me.
