For all we went through 9-11-2001 & those who died & lost loved ones at all 3 crashsites.
Fateful days begin this way-
with peace and quiet ripped apart,
as evil sets in.
Daily routine was shattered
when planes crashed through
two towers of sky-scraping glass.
Flames roared everywhere,
consuming everything in sight.
Screams filled the air
as collapsing metal groaned
beneath its own weight.
Thunder stunned, deafened everyone
as reality fell in upon itself.
Waves of shock silenced the world.
Daylight was gone all at once
when darkness fell from above.
Ash and debris covered everything.
The horizon disappeared.
Stunned, all stood still.
A new chaos began.
Heroes were lost in the battle-
fighting fire, saving lives.
So few set free.
New warriors took their places.
Clinging to hope, tireless,
they commenced the search for life.
America sought the face of God-
prayers were sent heavenward.
We were untouchable no more.
Disbeleif gave way to desperation and anger.
Demands for justice came from all corners.
Battlelines were chosen.
Allies were found where once we had none.
Our enemies will be found
and made to pay dearly.
A message clearly is set-
'We didn't start this fight, but we'll see it to your end.'
