samantha decides to move emily into a closet so as to not have to share a room anymore
The New Room

“Its not fair”cried Sam.
“I want my very own room!”
So she started clearing out Ems’ stuff
With a dust pan and a broom.

Sam decided to move her sister
to the bedroom down the hall,
only, a bedroom it was not
but, a closet in the wall.

A big closet by the stairs
Is where Sam chose to move her sis.
But, Emily will not be happy.
Sam was sure of this.

Sam worked and worked,
She worked all day.
She moved Emily’s things
To where they’d hopefully stay.

She moved her sisters clothes and things
With no trouble at all but,
When she had to move the bed,
She couldn’t get it down the hall.

So just the blankets and pillows
From Emilys bed she moved.
She arranged them on the floor
With the creases nicely smoothed.

She made Emily’s new room look nice,
As much as she possibly could.
Hopefully, her sister won’t be too mad
But, most likely she probably would.

When Emily came back that day
From being out and about,
She went into the room she shared
And let out a bloodcurdling shout!

“Where are my clothes and things?”
“Sam, what happened to my bed?”
Samantha, what have you done?”
“Have you completely lost your head?”

“I gave you your own room” said Sam.
“Here, let me show you where.”
Sam led her to that closet
With all her things in there.

Emily wasn’t at all happy.
In fact, she cried a lot.
Not because her room had been moved.
Because the smaller room she got.

Sam said to her sister Emily
“Just try it for a while.”
“To have our very own rooms,
I thought would make you smile.”

So Emily said fine and
when it was time for bed,
Each girl in their own room
Laid down their weary head.

Neither girl could sleep,
They could not shut their eyes.
Sam began wondering if
Her decision had been so wise.

She missed her sister, Emily.
Without her she couldn’t sleep.
So to that closet she’d put her sister,
Sam slowly began to creep.

Into Emilys new room she went
To be with the one she missed.
She crawled into bed beside her,
Said goodnight and hugged and kissed.

Both girls slept much better
And the next morning they got to work
Moving Emily’s stuff back in
And their parents watched with a smirk.
